Tough love

"Parenting is love, parenting is tough, but it pays off " Chancier Neh Fointama.

The joy of every parent is to see their child fully equipped to face the world.
Sometimes, equipping them means parents having to make painful sacrifices to secure these children's future.
Parents make these sacrifices because they love their children. Some parents also take some decisions that will give their children a level of stability in the society.
Every parent's story is unique.

If you had money and opportunity, will you give a car to your child of less than 10years old as a gift and let that child drive the car around?

Taking a cue from the question asked, there are certain things that we will not do for our children, not because we do not love them. There are also painful sacrifices we will go through for the sake of our children just so that they can have a stable life in society.

To get to the beauty of tough love in parenting, I'll like us to see what parenting is not.

1. Parenting is not giving birth to children.
2. Parenting is not providing food and basic needs for the children.
3. Parenting is not

According to a school of thought, parenting or child rearing is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. Parenting refers to the intricacies of raising a child and not exclusively.

From this definition, parenting requires time, energy and willingness. To achieve good parenting at the end of the day as a parent, you must be intentional about raising your kids. That's your number one team.
